Cultura Maguey artisan agave spirits β€” Oaxaca, MΓ©xico

Cultura Maguey Β· Est. 2021 Β· Oaxaca Β· Puebla

Ethically produced Mexican spirits.

For people who care about what they drink β€” and who made it.

Our Mission

We believe in culture.

Cultura Maguey bridges the gap between conscious spirits consumers and ethical Mexican producers β€” putting the people and traditions behind every bottle at the center of every decision.

We exclusively champion Mexican-owned brands and prioritize uncertified agave spirits, a direct reflection of our belief that traditional mezcal production is an act of cultural and economic resistance. Our producers do not need a certification to validate the integrity of their craft.

Through honest storytelling, transparent sourcing practices, and education-driven distribution, we connect values-aligned retailers, bars, and consumers with the people, places, and processes behind every bottle of traditional mezcal and agave spirit we import.

Producer First

Every bottle starts with a mezcalero β€” not a market trend. We work directly with traditional distillers.

Mexican Owned

We exclusively represent Mexican-owned agave spirit brands β€” no foreign-controlled labels.

Uncertified & Authentic

Traditional destilados de agave without CRM certification β€” because the craft predates the committee.

Education Driven

We sell understanding alongside bottles. Know the village, the maguey, the hands that made it.

Destilado de Agave Β· Oaxaca

Agua Del Sol

Agua del Sol makes traditional agave spirits accessible to local communities by keeping for them a part of every export batch. Bottled as Agave Spirits (and not Mezcal) allows our producer partners to maintain traditional production methods and abide by local proofing standards in Oaxaca.

Produced by a small family operation in the Central Valleys of Oaxaca using wild-harvested maguey, traditional clay pot distillation, and time-honored fermentation with natural yeasts. The kind of spirit bartenders call by name.

Aguardiente de CaΓ±a Β· Oaxaca

Brazo Fuerte

An aguardiente de caΓ±a distilled from certified organic sugarcane grown at 1,200 meters above sea level in Oaxaca. Harvested by hand after 18–24 months of cultivation and crushed on-site using a mobile trapiche β€” preserving the raw, grassy character of the highland cane.

Orgullosamente OaxaqueΓ±o. Brazo Fuerte is a rare example of artisan cane spirit from Mexico's agave heartland β€” a category that predates mezcal denomination and continues to thrive outside it.

Whiskey Β· Oaxaca

Origen 35

A rare whiskey from Oaxaca distilled from heirloom purple maize β€” evidence that Mexico's distillation heritage extends far beyond agave. Isidoro Krassel is the architect of Origen 35's unique flavors: a second-generation distiller whose family knowledge now spans three generations of Oaxacan craft.

Origen 35 occupies a singular space in the Mexican spirits landscape: a purple corn whiskey made with the same devotion and artisan ethos as the best mezcals from the region.
